Players must have shinguards, covered by socks, to
participate in both practices and games. Socks which can
cover shinguards are provided to the players as part of
their uniforms, but you may want to have additional socks
for practice.
Soccer cleats are not required, but you must have soccer
cleats (no metal cleats, no spike at the toe) if you wear
cleats.
Most coaches also require that players bring a soccer
ball to practice and bring water to both practices and
games.
This is up to your coach. Typically, teams practice twice a
week for 1-1.5 hours.
AYSO is divided into over one thousand "regions" nationwide.
These are the most local parts of AYSO and have their own
organizations, boards, volunteers, etc., but run under the
guidelines established by the national organization. Regions
are grouped into "areas" (as many as a hundred regions in
each), and areas into "sections." The sections then comprise
the national organization. Region 28 is in area E
of Section 11.
It's easy. Talk to your child's coach, call your Regional
Commissioner or any of the Region's board members. They will
be most helpful - and happy to find the right job for you.
